Earlier this week we finally made it out of the house for a evening, leaving a friend to babysit. This was quite a big deal, being the first time we’ve gone out on our own since Ifor was born. We saw Jose Gonzalez at the Union Chapel, a really wonderful venue to hear lovely music in.
I was trying to get myself back into the habit of posting more regularly but then I got struck down with flu (everyone always seems to say flu these days for when they just have a sniffle) a cold and have been struggling to keep up with the day to day stuff. Here’s a summary;
- Eagerly awaiting my MOO cards, as offered by the lovely Flickr
- Got a copy of I’m from Barcelona’s new album ‘Let Me Introduce My Friends’, it’s OK but We’re from Barcelona is the standout track
- Lucy has some lovely photos of (lovely looking) food
- Heard about the Margate Exodus earlier in the week, sounded interesting and now it’s happened
- Google Sync was mentioned on the Productivty Show but frankly I’m not too impressed. The backup element is useful but it’s clunky and got a bit annoying
I’ve been watching a fair bit of e4’s coverage of the v festival this weekend. the coverage itself has been quite good, they have managed to show bits from the smaller stages which is better than most festival coverage usually manages. in terms of the music itself, it’s been ok (oozing with enthusiasm there) the best bits I’ve caught have been beck and the go-team. hoping to see some of rufus wainwright and moz later.
I’ve only been to v once and didn’t like it as much as I have other festivals, it has a much more mainstream feeling and the fact that there were official product partners for everything from coke to ketchup annoyed me, that level of corporatism seems at odds with what festivals should be about.
>>update>> just watching faithless perform god is a dj and the crowd go wild. best reaction I’ve seen all day.
